Chapel Hill Historic
Home Renovation
Chapel Hill Historic
Home Renovation
From fall of
2007 through the Spring of 2008, Natural Designs
had the opportunity to work with Lindsey Landscapes
& Design. We were offered the challenge of
installing all the stone work for a recently
renovated Chapel Hill house on Franklin Street.
The project included the installation of a
3600 square foot circular fieldstone driveway
bordered with granite cobbles. Stone columns
highlight all entrances. Four unique flagstone
terraces, along with fieldstone walls, create
natural charm bold enough to support this
grand estate. The project featured a formal
rose garden, and, in total, 100 tons of stone
were placed.
Serene Outdoor Living Space
Jim and Lisa’s
Backyard Retreat
After building
a new home in Durham, Jim and Lisa contacted
Natural Designs to help them create a relaxing
backyard retreat. A few consultations and
a couple of sketches later, we came up with
a plan for the project to meet their requirements.
They needed a water garden for their Koi
fish, and drainage issues needed to be resolved.
They wanted a terrace as an additional living
space—also serving as a solution to the
graded slope. To bring balance to the space,
Jim asked for a Japanese style Zen garden.
Today, they have a functional and serene
outdoor living space where they can relax,
meditate and enjoy the sound of water from
the Koi pond.
